River Irwell, Summerseat, after heavy rain

by andrewwake @ 2007-01-18 - 12:52:09

Irwell rising

The Irwell is fed from the streams and moors above Ramsbottom and runs for about 15 miles to Manchester city centre and Salford where it joins the Manchester Ship Canal.

Wow - not only a graphical talent, but a great photographer as well! If I ever get round to visiting Lancashire (too many places on my list for one lifetime), I'll sure try to drop by in Summerseat (nice name for a town too, btw - a bit like Midsummer, but without the murders (I hope?) ).
